3hr to 5x saved locations File Transfer

Hi Everyone,
Ive sent my faulty (well loved) Fenix 3hr(second time) back to Garmin Europe.
And I was offered to upgrade,(pay extra) for a fenix 5x.
I was wondering if it was possible to transfer at least the saved locations file from the 3hr to the 5x?
Maybe someone has tried it.

I've spent a long time mapping the mountain where i live, and would ideally like
not to have to spend weeks inputting my saved locations again.
Any help will be much appreciated.

One of the methods: BaseCamp ( http://www.garmin.com/en-US/shop/downloads/basecamp )
With the program you can download from F3 to the computer "saved locations" and then send to F5X

Thankyou for taking the time to post your reply,
that's good to know!

I'm not very familiar with the base camp software,
and my watch is now sent away, but i can still see my saved locations on the basecamp map page, from when I've used it before,
so as you say, I should be able to transfer them once I understand the software better.

I also do have the 3hr locations file saved on the computer, and am wondering if I can simply drag and drop to a specific folder on the f5x?

I also do have the 3hr locations file saved on the computer,

1. Try importing into BaseCamp (File-> Import).
2. If this is a GPX file, copy to your watch - Garmin/NewFiles folder

I used basecamp as you suggested, and i was able to transfer the files without any problems.
