I turn my F5 off ever night before bed and when I wake up I power it back on then put it on my wrist and after 5 minutes and less then 100 steps I have 640KCal count... how is that possible?
What he said. Basically the watch looks at your stats ( height weight etc etc ) then calculates what you would have burned overnight or in the morning being alive
In addition to the above, there is no real need to turn it off overnight. The F5 is known for its long battery life - approx. 2 weeks in watch mode, or about 7% per day/2% while you are sleeping. And that's with 24/7 HR monitoring. But the HR LED's shut down within a few seconds of you taking the watch off your wrist with no movement, so the savings would only be about 1% of battery. The Do Not Disturb settings can also be used to prevent notifications from waking you up.
