From bad to worse. Now my favorite watch face (my watch) doesn't load at all. From one crash every 2-3 days with 6.75 to permanent crashing with 6.78. Well done GARMIN. I had enough. Going back to 6.00

What does this even mean? It's BETA what have you "Had enough" of? Testing? Beta is for you to test for the MFG in exchange for that you get to see new features. Comments like this make me laugh. Going back to GA seems like the right move.

Also +1 on battery drain and lagg.
  • Hi!!! does anyone have problems with the WLAN? In the settings, the WLAN works, but if you want to build a connection under Controls, an error message "network error" is on the watch.

I found the AP name now differentiates between UPPER and lower case letters. In case you entered the names manually then it could be mismatched upper and or lower case spelling. Easiest way is to pair the old way through Express... hope this was helpful

I have used every single beta version since day one from the fenix3 days. I know very well what beta means and the risks. This is the first time that I had to roll back to a previous stable version simply because the device is not functional for me.
  • To all: battery drains due to watchfaces not suitible to firmware, please check drain with default watchface.

As of .78b I can confirm the auto-upload (through wi-fi OR cell phone) doesn't work. Manual sync via controls menu shortcut works.
Considering Wi-Fi has nothing to do with Garmin Connect Mobile, I suppose it's a FW issue with the F5X.

It did work only once, the very first time I logged an activity (a test activity) after installing .78b then no more.

That could be true - I will check.

Even if this turns out to be true, for me, this is still a firmware issue that should be fixed because a) this hasn’t been an issue with previous Beta firmwares that I used and b) a firmware that cripples all IQ watchfaces other than the default watchfaces doesn’t seem like a good and fair practice to me
  • Since updating my Fenix 5S to beta 6.78, it won't sync wirelessly. I've had no issues syncing until now. When looking on my phone, it does update the most current number of steps, heart rate and intensity minutes but it just won't sync any of my latest activities.

UPDATE: I just turned off the wi-fi setting on my phone and used cellular. Syncing worked this time. However, as someone else pointed out earlier, it won't auto update any longer. I had several activities that weren't synced until just manually doing it now.
