Google Earth KMZ image at CustomMaps folder

Hi Guys,

With my Montana, I used to georef any image, e.g. a map using Google Earth, saving it as .kmz and then copying it to CustomMaps folder.
I've tried doing that with my Fenix 5x ( that already has the same folder) but it is not working.
Any thoughts?

Does the Fenix support custom maps? I don't think so, there was nothing in description by Garmin that it supports custom maps..

In my watch it works fine. I'm using JNX (BirdsEye license - ID=0) and KMZ files:

Hi, tks.

hum... it appears kmz's to be BirdsEye's subscription dependable because I don´t have the "Custom Maps" as a menu item available on my watch...

No need for BirdsEye subscription.

I'm sorry for asking but have you actually done it using a Fenix5x?
As I said I've always done it successfully using my Montana but it is not working with the Fenix 5x.

Oh no. KMZ worked before I used the BirdsEye license

I do not know where your problem is. :-( I copied the KMZ files from my Oregon 600

Hi,

Did you copy the .kmz file to where on the Fenix5x? Which folder? or you send it using basecamp (send to device), or something else?
The menu option you showed above named "CustomMaps" it is not present on my watch... remember that I don't I have a BirdsEye Subscription.

I copied the KMZ to the Garmin\CustomMaps folder.
The "CustomMaps" option appears in the "configuration map" in activity settings eg walking
