Is there a way to downgrade from 6.00 to 5.40? I cannot find a link and I am desparate to find it, trying to solve an issue with my Fenix 5. Anyone has kept the files or know a place to download it? Thanks
Thanks SanchoEDLP, got the right file, uploaded it to my Garmin folder, then disconnect the watch but I get no message to install the software, and furthermore, the file (after I have renamed it GUPDATE.GCD) has been erased.
To downgrade FW, you need a special version of GUPDATE.GCD that allows it. Otherwise, the watch just looks at it, see's it's the same or older than what's installed, and then just deletes it. When you do get a downgrade version of the GCD, all setting will get reset.
Also, when downgrading from production FW to older production FW, there's a good chance you'll be "reupdated" to the latest production.
I just want to be able to use the wacth again with IQ apps. Currently my watch is shown as FW 6.60 which never existed, and no matter which IQ app I use, it is not shown in Garmin Connect web or mobile... It used to work on 5.40.
Sounds like you need to contact Garmin Support, as that is VERY odd.. (6.60?) did you my any chance install a .GCD that wasn't built for your watch or something?
Have you tried installing the 6.75 beta FW to bring it up to that? The beta FW also has a GCD that will take you back to 6.00
Yes contavted them but as I was dissapointed by their suggestions I tried to find here a solution. They say it is an issue with the IQ developer, but I told them I tried random apps and not a single ones appear in the Garmin Connect web. Tried 6.75 went back to 6.00 but it shows 6.60!!! And does not work with IQ apps... I have asked for a replacement, although I believe it is a software issue.
Sorry, forgot to mention one other bug you get when you have the "unlucky" serial numbers in the other thread. The corresponding firmware version shows sometimes incorrectly in garmin connect screen. The one in "settings" - "System"- "about" on your watch is correct.
So the issue you have is that you have a "unlucky" serial number in garmin connect.
