Vo2 Max

Hey everyone.
I have a question here : my vo2 max was dissapear after i've hard reset the watch(because wireless won't work; upload in particullary) .So now it say : run outdoors with hear rate twice to see your status.I've did that but it does not show me even if i've run with the heart rate strap for 10 minutes twice.It is because i've used "Trail Run" ?Thanks!

Yes, it is because you used trail run. Garmin have decided that trail runs are not considered when making VO2 max calculations. There has been quite a bit off debate here if this is desired or not, but this is the current situation. Got for a "Run" and you should get a new VO2 max. It is unfortunate that when you perform a factory reset this data is lost. It has never been synced back to the watch from Garmin connect.

Thanks for your answer.So i guess that i need to take another "runs" but this time using "Run" application and not others even if i am running on a trail road.:)
And about Vo2 Max, i guess garmin need to do something for us: just make a posibility to add Vo2 Max from web interface, if we know it already.

Dexter,

Running on a trail can potentially involve working harder to avoid roots and rocks, and coping with an uneven trail surface, compared with running at the same speed on a smooth surface, which is why VO2Max is not calculated. Pick the smoothest trail you can to set you VO2Max with a "Run"

Thanks.I've run today twice for 10 minutes and now my VO2Max it's 54.Also my Training Load for last 7 days it goes up to 2080.I guess that i need to slow down my horses for a little bit :D

2080? I'd check your HR zones and maxHR are recorded correctly.

MaxHR 185 bpm, resting hr 55bpm, lthr - empty(it was 169 before resetting the watch). Zones are : Based on %Max.HR

I think it is not good idea of Garmin to get VO2Max just from outside flat runs. The winter came here on North of Russia, foggy, cold, snowing, raining, dirty slippery roads and so on. Very hard to run outside with much wearing. From any calculations it will be just stupid numbers with bad GPS signals and so on... So, just treadmill for me and looks like i'll be without any VO2 till the end of next spring. Garmins guys are thinking just about worm South part of the world :-)
