How do I adjust the declination, or is it automatic? Do I need to update my location? I'll be traveling to the Patagonia region and would like the readings to be somewhat accurate. Thanks in advance.
Thanks! I’m excited. I know another fellow here “brstreetlaw” or something close to that also went and did the same route.
Will definitely calibrate when I get there. I know the manual adjustment would be about 13.5 degrees East. Anyone know what automatic does? Or if it’s worth using?
Auto should be all you need. Get a gps lock and true north should be adjusted (after all, did you adjust anything when you got the watch?). A warning if you switch to magnetic n or a user declination, the compass only half respect the setting. The outside arrow points using the setting but the center number shows the true north. Something I have complained about since the F3. I tend to use maps set for magnetic declination so this can be really confusing.
