Steps done during an activity

Same problem here. It has continued to work for others but more and more people are reporting it's not working for them now. We may be at the end of the road for it.

I believe you can still download the fit files and extract the steps data yourself or upload it to a 3rd party site to crunch those numbers.

Thanks guys , I can't believe that they could omit something so basic. I have discovered that you can use the last activity widget to show your steps , but only for walking , not running etc and it only shows when it is the current item . Wake up Garmin :mad:

Well, today I went for a “Mall Walk” of a little over 2 miles, and registered a little over 440 steps. The only place I found this was when I imported the.FIT file into SportTracks 3, in the additional information screen. Shows recovery heart rate, recovery time and a bunch of other stuff I know nothing about, seems steps may be there, but are they being recorded correctly? Could be the reason for the omission.

Hmmmm didn't know about SportTracks , nice program. Forgive my ignorance , but where do I find the number of steps . Here is an example that I have imported (hopefully I have shared it correctly)

Used SportTracks for years, but have never seen steps in there. Does this require an additional plugin?

For ST3 add the Activity Documentation plugin which also adds Custom Fileds. You will find steps (given as 'Strides') under Custom Data Fields view. Addtionally, if you right click on column header of Daily Activity view and select 'List Settings ...' you can customise what columns are shown; add 'Strides' and you will see this for all activites. However, do note that not all profiles record the steps in the fit.

To the OP. I see steps in my GC listings. Here too you need to right click the column header and customise which data columns you want; just add steps.

That's were my problem lies, the new screen called "Modern" no longer has the option to display steps (unless I'm missing it)
