I'm fairly new to the Garmin world as I've only had the 5x for a month or so. I think I've seen this mentioned but I can't seem to find any posts right now. I have settings reset to what I assume are defaults for no apparent reasons. For instance, my watch face (Gearmin) settings randomly go back to default. I also try to turn on my sound notifications but at some point every day they go back to "During Activity" or whatever. Same issues with the order of activities at times. It's just really annoying. Is this a known issue and anyone have any suggestions on a remedy?
When I started this thread, it was only happening every couple of days or more. Annoying but not that bad. Now it is happening multiple times a day which is just stupid. Though I rarely sync with the Connect PC app, I did set the appropriate settings there as well as the mobile app. After doing that, it as become worse. It just boggles my mind how dumb this is.
I had same problem, but before 7 days I wos instaled new watch face BS1. After that i did't have any more problems with my 5x /reset settings, reset watch face, compas problem.../ tricky but true;)
1. I try allot of watch faces but i like Line watch face. It worked perfect until one day, i assumed when i install some application/ watch face/ widget/ data field, and after that the problems start. The Line watch face revert to original settings or face goes to default watch face randomly and i cannot select Line watch face anymore( the watch face is broken). I restored the watch to factory settings i installed the Line watch face, Visual HR Zones, Dozen Cycle and OneRunData data fields. The Line watch face works perfectly now. 2. The problem with the watch alarms persist and the simple solution is to set the alarms only from garmin mobile app.
One other related frustration that I noticed today is when the settings do reset, you cannot go in and change them back unless you have data on your phone. Now, I know that you can get data just about anywhere anymore but there are still plenty of places you cant. Not only is this a fitness watch but it also has uses in outdoors activities like fishing, camping, hiking, hunting, etc. To require data just to change a setting seems very dumb.
