Fenix 5S/5 - 6.75 Beta Release

Hello Fenix 5S/5 users,

We have new beta software ready for your upcoming adventures!

Please read the 'notes' and 'installation instructions' in the 'Updates and Downloads' page found in the link below. Only the system software has been updated in this beta, but we've included the most recent versions of software for all peripherals, including text files.

Note: Please allow for the updates to propagate across all servers. There is no need to post that the link does not work. It will after a bit of patience.

Added support Connect IQ SDK v2.4
Added support for configuring ‘Off Course’ alerts. (Settings > Navigation > Alerts > Off Course.)
Added the ability to set an alert that occurs at the start of every hour. Go to Settings > System > Time > Alerts, and enable the "Hourly" option.
Fixed an issue with editing coordinates on some languages.
Fixed an issue where Autoshot detection and Measure Shot features were not working as expected.
Fixed an issue where hourly alert was showing incorrect time intermittently.
Fixed an issue where the device was unable to connect to Wi-Fi intermittently.
Fixed an issue where the All day Stress widget was missing on Quatix 5 devices.
Fixed an issue where the last set of a Strength activity, was not included in activity summary information.
Fixed an issue where activity uploads were not functioning as expected after a reconnection to the phone.
Fixed an issue where All Day Stress was being logged during an activity.
Fixed an issue where backlight was not functioning as expected for goal notifications outside of an activity.
Fixed an issue where the decimal portion of temperature readings was incorrect when setting system units to Celsius.
Fixed an issue where certain iOS smart notifications were not being displayed on Varia vision.
Fixed an issue causing corrupt Swimrun activity files.
Fixed an issue causing ANT+ to stay connected after going into low power mode when broadcasting heart rate during an activity.
Fixed an issue causing the Rep Counting "Reps/Set Timer" page to be displayed during a Cardio activity despite a workout not being active.
Fixed an issue allowing GPS to be enabled for indoor activities.
Fixed a potential issue causing Strength workout step names to not be displayed correctly.
Fixed a potential issue causing incorrect values in the Virtual Partner's Time Ahead, Time Behind, and Est. Finish Time fields.

Not that anyone's heard of here. Rainmaker's post suggested we'd be getting it late, because we'd be getting Connect IQ 2.4 late, but we don't seem to have to worry about that if we're on the beta track.

Maybe a silly question, but does anyone know how you can install this via a MacBook?
The instructions I think are written for a windows computer, and I cant seem to make it install trough my I-Mac

What's the problem? Can you not see the appropriate folders? They might be hidden, so you need to tell your Mac to show hidden folders.

Went on a 20 minute easy run and scored a TE of 5.0, 3 days or recovery, and unusually high training load on my 5 (not S). Definitely too high for that effort. I'm assuming this is related to bad EPOC calculations. Anyone else seeing this? I've already emailed the beta team.

Can we fix the iOS 11 losing connectivity issue please... I can no longer connect via bluetooth unless I reset network settings and jump through all sorts of stupid hoops, only the next day to lose bluetooth connection again.

Hi, I don’t Know if is a problem of this firmware but at my first run with this beta after 20 min my Fenix is frozen and I lost the remain of run (never happened with firmware 6.00) I have had restart it. Tomorrow I’m going to try it in another run.

Sounds like a bug that was plaguing many F3 users has reared its head again! On the F3 there were some watch serial numbers that the Garmin servers were processing incorrectly, so we never saw IQ data and Elevation Corrections were always enabled. The only way this will get fixed is if Garmin sorts it out on the server side.

EDIT: I'm on 6.75 and data from Surf Tracker is always processed correctly, by the way.

Just to say that I have restored to FW 6.0 and the issue is still there - now Garmin has asked me to archive and send them the watch Garmin folder. Very annoying issue.

Meste7 you probably need to rma your device because connect backoffice team is incompetent. Your deviceid is a unlucky one and most likely you
1. Have height connections on by default
2. If you disable them only the summary changes, not the graphs
3. On the page of the last synced device you have unknown or similar.
4. No fit extension parsing.
5. Previouslly the connect iOS app didnt show all extra features such as lactate threshold. Not sure about the new one.

Garmin has received very extensive information from me about the bug for now almost 1 year ago. Still it appear and reappear from time to time.

Oddsweng or SOMEONE at garmin that does care to not return fully working watches due to backend bug. The bug celebrates two years at the coming new-years eve...
Meste7 is definetely not the first one experiencing it.

Now I yet again verified that that it is the serialnumber that makes the webpage semi-useless.
I took one fitfile from meste7 and added +1 to his serialnumber (in device_info 5 field) and adjusted the checksum accordingly. His original file doesn't import correct and the adjusted one does.

Contacting general support didn't help. I've tried previously and the ticket is closed. (The tesfiles I gave to garmin at that time failed today when retested)
