save a position inside a recording route

hi guys, here my question:
I'm a mushroom searcher so i would like to record a track with my fenix 5 with the possibility to save on the tracks some exact locations on the route (locations where i find the mushrooms)
I know i can save position on fenix 5 but this position are not linked to the route, route and saved locations are two different things.
For a better understand i would like to be able to obtain a result like this one where there is a track and some position marked on the track all in a unique file.

Is it possible?

I "think" Hike2 should work for you. You mark a waypoint at the place where you find the mushrooms, and when the activity is uploaded to GC, each of those waypoints is shown as a lap mark. You can then export the data to google maps, etc. You can also save the waypoints within the app, and when you go to the place again, you can see the direction and distance to each spot you marked from where you currently are (up to 50 waypoints).

Anyway it's quite strange that this feature is not in basics option by Garmin, it is quite simple ad useful add this to the standard garmin pack!

Hi Von! Are you familiar of this so called magic mushrooms/psychedelic mushrooms? I was browsing some articles and i encountered this article here in https://www.trufflemagic.com/blog/best-and-worst-places-to-trip-with-magic-mushrooms/ about this mushrooms that has some tripping effects. Im really fascinated about this and im curious if you happen to encounter one yourself? Thanks :)

You could even test whether those tripping mushrooms have an impact on jim's hiking app or the watch's tracking capabilities :cool:

It should work also directly with the LAP BUTTON. Set "Auto Lap" to OFF, with the LAP button (right down button) you will set a "lap" = mark on the track.

You can also save a location from the defaults in the controls menu (even within a hike) by long pressing the light button.

i've tried this solution but in my opinion the LAP button is disabled in hiking activity. It works in trail running activity but not in Hike one.
