Navigation question

Hi Experts,
So, I used routecourse to create a route, and got it into my watch. Then, I started the RUN app, got the GPS to lock, and went on a run.

Around mile 3, I wasn't sure of my route. So, I went to RUN options, Navigation->Courses, selected the route, and selected "Do Course". Though navigation started, the watch was confused as to what my starting point was. It was thinking the start point to be where I invoked the navigation option. Is this expected? How do I make the watch follow the downloaded course and understand what the start and end points are, irrespective of where I invoke the navigation option?

Do you mean that navigation should have directed you to the start of course instead of nearest point on course?
I think that it should direct you to nearest point on course and not to the start. Last time I tested it did that.
