Why are watch faces constantly resetting to defaults?

This has been annoying me for a while now. I was using GearMin watchface and tweaked the settings to my preference and after anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours, it would reset all my settings back to the default. thought it was a problem with the watchface (a few reviews mentioned resetting issues too) so i tried another, ActiFace and it too is doing the same thing. what's the point of custom watch faces if they dont work? i cant be the only one experiencing this can i? Is this a watch problem or a watchface problem? im on v6.0 right now, it was doing it in the v5.x too. fenix 5X

and also, sunset/sunrise times dont update. yes, ive done outdoor activities with gps. doesnt matter, never updates.

I had the same thing. What solved the issue is to reboot the watch (hold the power button for 20 seconds (this does not restore your watch to factory settings btw)
An explanation could be that the memory of the watch is full because of a bad app running (leaking memory?).

I use my own watchfaces, no reset to defaults. Soft reset your watch...

My watch also does this, from time to time it will loose the watch face settings. I have tried this using three different watch faces now. Recently when this happens it also seems to lose all control menu items excluding the flashlight. I have tried resetting the watch as advised but it has not resolved this problem and still happens.

that didnt work. well, it worked for about 24 hrs then it reset to defaults again. thats the longest its stuck. rebooting and resetting the watch face every single day at best, or several times a day at worst is annoying.
