Upload gpx without usb cable and pc

Hi all,
i would like to know if there is a solution for upload gpx files on Fenix without the USB cable and pc.
I travel a lot (without my pc) and often i would like to go out for a run or a trail in countries that i don't know so would be very helpful upload a track directly from smartphone without pc.

thank a lot for the replies
  • You know that you can now create your own routes in the smartphone Garmin app, right?

If tht is not enough try this app https://apps.garmin.com/en-GB/apps/b7efc9ca-5446-4e1c-bc53-474e97f376ac Have not tried it myself but maybe it does what you want.
  • thank you meste i know, but:
    1) i can create my own route by garmin app but i can't import a gpx existing files into my gamin app
    2) i can import gpx intro routecorse or dwmap but i can't use this route in another activity, for example with a Garmin trail run app.

so this two tips doesn't help in my opinion.
    Anyway thank you very much

EDIT: I've tried routeCorse app instead of dwMap and the operation works fine with the first one. On the contrary on DWmap there was a bug so i can't go on saving my tracks.
so your tips number two fully works! thank you in advance!!
  • Recent changes in Garmin Connect (finally!!) allow you to import .gpx routes into Garmin Courses. You can do this on your phone - just use the browser to access Garmin Connect, rather than the app.

  • Thank you mcalista, i've tried your option and it works at 50%.
Infact when I arrive to upload the gpx on my fenix from my iphone the Garmin Connect (desktop version) tells me that Garmin Express is necessary to do this.... but there is no garmin express on the phone, so procedure stops.
  • Yes, the website will try to transfer it through Garmin Express. But having imported the .gpx into Garmin Connect with your phone browser, you can then send the course to your device over Bluetooth using the phone app (under the Courses tab).

My apologies - in emphasizing the phone browser, I omitted the 2nd step.
  • Dear mcalista you're right!
Thank you so much for the useful tips! now i can upload gpx on my device without nothing more than my Fenix and my Iphone.

    Thank you again!
  • Another option is to use the Connect IQ app Gimporter. I used it a couple of times and it worked just fine, very easy to copy a FIT/GPX file from the phone to my 935.

Exactly so vonzipper: part of the magic of routeCourse is that the downloaded route (course) goes into your normal list of courses, and can be accessed from there like any other course. What routeCourse offers besides the wireless download from phone/laptop is mobile-friendly route creation and import too.
