Problems with logging weightlifting

It's great that support for rep count and logging of exercises have been added! I do however have a problem with some of the logging. After every workout it logs squats as body squats (without weight) even though I enter the weight after every set.

Anyone else experienced this?
  • Yes. This happens to me too. In Garmin Connect Mobile, I change the exercise from Body Squat to Barbell Back Squat and the weight I recorded during the activity properly appears, although sometimes it's off by a fraction of a lb. For example 45 lbs would show up at like 45.1 lbs or something. Could be part of a lbs / kg conversion bug. When I try to do a custom workout I created in Garmin Connect with zero as the default weight (and I add it during the workout), the watch asks for the weight in kg, even though my system settings is in english units.

    My Fenix 5, iPhone7/Garmin Connect and pc/Garmin Connect are all set to use pounds. Workouts, made on the pc website or on my iPhone are transferred to the Fenix 5 with the correct numerical weight value (eg. 200lb) but are shown on the Fenix 5 in kilograms (eg. 200kg)!!! When my workout routine is completed and the data it is sent back to my iPhone, the units are back in pounds but the incorrect Fenix 5 weight in kg is converted to pounds (eg 440 lb). I'm in Canada btw. Anyone else have this problem?

    FrankV - I have the same issue. I just found it last night when I used the Workout feature with the Strength app for the first time on my FR 935. It's definitely a bug. How do we get this on Garmin's list to fix?

    I've troubleshooted, chatted and emailed with Garmin product support - reset the watch, latest beta firmware, etc., all of no help. A copy of my Garmin folder was sent in to start a case for the engineering team to review on October 6 and I'm told they have other examples of this issue. I was also told they'll be in touch....I would suggest you do the same by starting a chat session with Garmin support.
