I've had a weird problem crop up from last night. When I plug my watch into my PC it vibrates like it does when you plug it into a wall charger and it does charge. However the PC does not recognise it as a USB device and because of this Garmin Express does not see it so I can' sync it etc. When I go to My Computer it also doesn't see it as an external device like before. I have done a hard power off and also tried both Garmin and Mass Storage under USB mode in the settings. I have also tested using different cables and PC's , with the same result, so it seems to be the port on the watch. Could it be partially blown ?
Sounds like the same problem a lot of us have in the other thread. You'll get a charge but no 'data side' to the PC. I found I have to turn my with the watch face facing down or sometimes to the side, sometimes have to connect and disconnect it several times, eventually it'll get a connection. If it holds I'll leave it, if not repeat steps. Thankfully I don't connect it to pc that often anymore!
Looks my problem was related to the watch after all. I took it in today and had it replaced while I waited. Well done to Navworld . FWIW the new watch is a tighter fit with both the new and one of my existing cables. :)
That's the odd thing about the problem - some people get replacements (watches/cables) and the problem goes away, others get watch replacements and/or cables and still have the problem!
