Workouts not transferred (but in calendar)

I am using the Garmin calendar for workouts.
This is my problem:
I have created a running workout named 140-168ras.
I can see it in my workouts and GCM, I can see it when I start run (window prompting to do workout)...
BUT! The workout does not exist on watch in "workouts". So I can not.do the workout on a non-calendar day.
i have tried transferring by GCM and GE + cable

From within "Workouts" (rather than the calendar) on Garmin Connect, select your workout, then Send to Device. Once you have synced, it should be available under Training> My Workouts on the watch.
