Fenix 5x has it 5GHZ WIFI?

Fenix 5x has it 5GHZ WIFI? I m always wondering why the 5x cant find my 5ghz wifi router. A few days ago i had someone here who wanted wifi but we werent able to connect to my router now i found out that the phone supports only 2.4ghz.
With the 6.0 update where i lost german menu only english was there.
Had to copy it to 5x from a beta (thx garmin) still some german mixed with english like the new wifi option in 5x.
I setup an Android hotspot from my phone and finally wifi was working.
I cant find clear wifi specs for 5x, but if it only can do 2.4ghz alot of anger with wifi problems would be explained.

No. 2.4 GHz only. It's in the specificatons. See your manual.

Most 5 Ghz routers also support legacy 2.4Ghz unless you have turned it off. . If you are having 2.4Ghz connection problems also check the channel. Im not sure for the F5x but the F3 didnt support the full channel spec and if your router was auto channel would sometimes fail to connect. My 5X would not connect to the "standard" router provided by my telco ever (the F3 did) and in the end i added an ASUS router which worked OK. I find setting to a fixed channel <10 works best. Hopefully the 6.0 update will allow us to see what is actually going on with WiFi. Its extremely frustrating to diagnose connection problems with only two messages. "Failed to synch" or "failed to connect".

My router is for LTE it has only option for 2.4 ghz or 5 ghz.
As much in my neigbourhood have 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz is faster i use 5 ghz.
I find it sad that a 2017 product like the 5x has no 5 ghz wifi. I dont think you can find a 2017 smartphone price 700 euro + that doesnt support 5ghz wifi.

If it helps your phone in mobile hotspot mode will usually support 2.4ghz and 5Ghz. My samsung doesnt show up in availble networks but it works with the F5x. Thats what i use when i'm travelling (if garmin replication is actually working which has been a problem lately.)
