New Stress Widget

Does anyone understand how does it work and what insights can we get from it?

Sometimes it looks like is "always on" but other times when I access it, it asks me to wait 30 seconds "keeping still", and sometimes gives me result "Check Watch Fit"...

Does this New Stress Widget come out for replace the manual HRV test?
  • No, both exist side-by-side (for now)

I meant the New Stress Widget which just come out and do auto record for 24/7, while manual HRV test is just 1 day 1 time data
So, does Garmin plan for us to use the data from New Stress Widget and we no need to use manual HRV test anymore?

I recently purchased the Fenix 5x. Oddly the stress widget or app is not on my watch but my friend also recently purchased the same watch and has the stress widget/app. Does anyone know why or how I can get the stress widget/app? What am I missing?
  • You should be able to go settings->widgets->add widgets and it'll be on the list to add.

I'm really not convinced by this. I use an app HRV for Fitness to measure HRV every morning on waking. But this is some sort of arbitrary number and mine is almost never "rest" blue even when sleeping, it averages about 20 minutes per day max. It doesn't appear to learn your ranges and use those its just "under 30" etc. My husband on the other hand is basically so not stressed I am surprised he is actually alive as his is rarely ever out of the blue and says it shows him less stressed during work hours than when hanging out at home. Therefore, still keep looking at it but not sure if it's useful information.

Since firmware 7.60 the stress widget is not working correctly for a lot of people, it will show erroneous high stress values even during sleep rendering it useless. A hard reset will fix it but only temporarily, in a couple of days or more it will go back to the same so not worth it.
