Why only two simultaneous ConnectIQ data fields on this watch?

When I bought the 5X I assumed that it would support for example 10 IQ simultaneous datafields in a single app, like the much older Edge 1000, and I think i?ve heard that the Forrunner 935 does as well.

Ive been waiting for a firmware update to support more IQ datafields, but alas, no luck so far...

1. Why cannot Garmin ?best? watch have more than 2 simultaneous IQ datafields?

2. Is there any plans to increase the limit to maybe 5 or 10?

The 935 supports 2 simultaneous fields, the same as all the F5 series. The 735xt supported three, but at the expense of not being able to access the widget pages during an activity.
The Edge 1000 is something like four times faster than these watches, and has much more RAM - check out this app's results for benchmarks and memory. I doubt you'll see the limit increasing, unfortunately.

Because of processsing power. Watches have less processor power than edge series as they have smaller battery and need to last still many hours... So they need to conserve power someway. you can try configuring default data fields...

Epix supported 3 CIQ fields per activity. Was a little disappointing to see that functionality degraded a little when "upgrading" to the F5X. I don't 'need' any more than 2 CIQ fields at the moment, but that could certainly change if I found a sufficiently cool field that I wanted to add.

Personally I would be happy to see a higher number of CIQ data fields even if I couldn't see them during activity.
