Garmin Express Cycling Map Update Failure

I'm on the latest beta for my 5x and I noticed today when I tried to sync the watch via Garmin Express that a map update is available for the cycling map. This fails at the "preparing device" phase. I have almost 6GB of free space, so I don't think that is the issue as the file size of the update is listed a 2.13GB.

I've sent the express log to Garmin but there isn't anything really obvious there

Basically there is a line that says
"System.AggregateException: A Task's exception(s) were not observed either by Waiting on the Task or accessing its Exception property. As a result, the unobserved exception was rethrown by the finalizer thread. ---> System.ServiceModel.FaultException: The creator of this fault did not specify a Reason."

which appears to be another way of saying "this went poorly."

Is anyone else seeing this error?

Same error here on 5.83 beta release. Although with the European bike map.

Plenty of disk space on the host system? Clean out temp files by using something like CCleaner? Maybe try the option that also has the install keeping the map local as well as installing to the device?

edit: nevermind. Same thing happening for me, too. Windows 10 Pro x64. System is clean of temp files, etc...

Yep, I've got about 250GB free on my Win10 Pro x64 (10.0.15063) system and almost 6GB free on the 5x. That should be plenty. I just think the map or the beta is hosed. Thinking beta as i'm not seeing anyone report this on production firmware just yet.

Don't now if it's the same error, but I'm not able to update the cycle maps on 5.40.
