Good stuff but still have the distance remaining bug. Basically, while using Garmin pre-installed maps, if I create a route on the watch, the distance remaining data fields show differing distances. Doesn't matter if I use Tracback, Route new course, Follow Map, Use Course...
  • EV_Simon,

We've not seen any measurable feedback indicating the 5.40 software introduced a regression in floors climbed performance. There are many factors that can impact floors climbed. Here is a support article that may allow you to become more familiar with the feature: https://support.garmin.com/faqSearch/en-US/faq/content/LJ6vYF2phv7JUAOlsRRjC8

Thanks, I haven't done anything different from when I was using the Fenix3 HR that I was using previously, I will have a look at the watch to see if there is anything covering the hole but as I mentioned this is a new watch (10 days old).
  • Now that's what I call a must-have update! It's great to see that barometer calibration is finally being implemented!

    Finally!!!!! I can't believe it!!!!
  • How does the stress score in this update relate to the stress score reported via the HRV stress app?

Edit: tested syncing with the HRV stress app. It does work now. Thank you for fixing this.

Thank you so much Garmin for the manual Barometer Calibration!
Big pat on the back to the Garmin Dev Team for looking at our comments and responding to our feedback! Big update!
Pass on my thanks to the developers please!
  • I am interested in the below.
    • Improved the course navigation icons for better visibility and contrast.

I find that following a course is much harder on F5X then it was/is with the F3. Two main reasons.
    1. The triangle showing your current position is small and I find it difficult to see it as compared with the F3. Part of the reason may be due to maps now crowding the display more than the F3 and its harder to see the critical details.
2, The track completed overlays on top of the original course. On the F5X the overlay seems thinner than the original course track and thereby not completely replacing the track width. On the F3 the track completed completely covered to original track and it was easier to distinguish.

In short, I struggle much more with the F5X, especially when I get to a T for a second time and usually I was able to tell quickly if the right side of the T was already completed I need to turn left. With the F5X I literally can't tell and need to stop biking, take of my sunglasses and look closely. Never had that issue with the F3. The map completely crowds the display and I have it turned off to allow me to just focus on the course track.

Wonder if others are experiencing similar issues and I sincerely hope that this SW beta addresses it.

    One other point
How come the alarm synch is not yet resolved? That is ridiculous that it is taking this long to provide this basic feature.

Have you fixed the inconsistent training load metrics?

these values aee completely bonkers after 5.40.

yeah, I know that eg trail run and cardio have minimal effect.

I am training like before, with same activities...but my load is much smaller.
  • Are we users of the apac 5x once again going to be left behind and stuck with 4.2 ? Yeah 4.2 u read that right!

Will appreciate some comments on this matter from the admin.
  • The "around me" feature is very slow, took about 30 seconds to get the map screen. As far as I remember, was that much quicker in former fw versions? Anybody else noticed this or is it just my 5x?
  • Any reason I'm getting JSON error while trying to post a reply here?

edit: sorry for this - for some reason this question went thru, but couple lines of reply won't
