Bluetooth connection to phone issues

In the last week or so the Bluetooth connection to my phone drops and it wont reconnect unless I open up Garmin Connect on my phone. It will then connect. Within half an hour it is disconnected again and wont connect. I have rebooted the phone and the watch and it makes no difference. I know there is no issue with the phone as it stays connected to my car. Anyone else having a similar issue?

same here - after updating the GCM app to the latest version. No idea what Garmin is doing... support is closed during weekends... horrible.

No I use Android.

I am sure it is something to do with Garmin Connect mobile, however I have changed the Bluetooth connection to native as described in the link below but it hasn't made a difference.

For Android make sure you do NOT have Bluetooth-Sharing or Connect enabled in battery-optimization. Should be found under Settings / Apps / Special ... / Battery .. (do not know the exact labels - mine is german)

Latest GC does not sync for me. Switched back to previous version. Works again.

How do you revert back to a previous version of Garmin Connect Mobile?

To be honest I am getting a bit fed up with the number of issues that Garmin and in particular the Fenix range seem to have. Seriously considering giving up on the whole thing and going back to a proper watch!!!

I am having the same issue and running iOS 11 Beta and I was putting it down to that. Then after you mentioned it was also android I have noticed my Edge devices don't have this issue, so it could be just down to the Fenix 5.
