Auto-Zoom and Map Level of Detail While Navigating

Does anyone have any practical experience as what the different level of detail (more, normal, less) actually mean when using the built-in Topo maps? I use the Canadian Topo map. Does it actually show more information?

Any feed back on use of Auto-Zoom during navigation of courses when hiking in the mountains? Does it do a good job? Where can I find more information as to the criteria it uses to auto-zoom? Is it based on speed? What is the range of zoom it uses?
  • More detail means device will render more data on higher zoom levels. For example in zoom level with 100m scale it starts to display buildings in normal setting. It'll start to display buildings in higher zoom for example 200m scale when set to more.
I don't know the exact zoom levels and detail settings but I know it'll render more data on higher zoom levels. It may be same in the ground level or some more, I don't know exactly.
