My f5 started to work with my Stages after FW 5.1 there were some drop outs but a heck of a lot better than before. I then had FW 5.3 and all though my f5 says it's connected with stages before the ride when I'm actually out riding all that shows up on the power data page is 6553 within the cadence field. I have tried removing the Stages power within settings and searching again but the same happens. I really thought after FW 5.1 things were going in the right direction.

You will likely therefore, find other users that have experienced similar issues to yourself, and the same can be found for any electrical device and potential issue, but these do only make up a very small minority of users, and very few of these turn out to be genuine faults. As such, whilst regrettably faults can occur, as they can on any electrical device, there are no known faults with these, which can cause this.
In regards to this please restart both your device and power meter if at all possible, please then go into the settings and follow the steps within the link below to connect."
