Fenix 5x battery life question

Ok so I have been wondering this for a while now and hopefully I can get some clarification. I just upgraded from a fenix 5 to the 5x and I know that the battery is life is a little lower.

I downloaded the battery gauge widget and it seems as though my battery is draining at about .7 - 1% an hour. I use the SC8 watch face and my Bluetooth is not connected to my phone no gps but wifi auto upload is on.

If if I charge my phone at 7:00 pm on Tuesday at it hits 100% by 7:00 pm the next evening my battery percentage will be around 87% or if I run my usual 30 minutes with gps on but no glonass my battery would be around 83%

is this normal battery drain for the fenix 5x? I thought that the update might have caused it but Garmin said to wait to update to 5.30 and see if it gets better. I have 5.30 but the battery is still the same.

let me know if this is normal and I'm just over thinking it. It's just the fenix 5 would only use about 10% a day with my daily 30 minute gps run. Thanks!

Some custuom watch faces can draw more than the standard garmin ones. It might be worth just testing a standard watch face for 24 hours to see if this makes a difference.

With SC8, you can have a background process that shows the internet weather. Are you using that option? When you first install a watchface with that option, there's a message from the store that it could impact battery life.

If you are seeing the weather, maybe try it with the with internet weather off?

It's such a difficult thing to quantify. Run a garmin face as a baseline then use a custom face.
The more times the auto light comes on the more battery will be used. This will change depending on your movements.
It's a lithium ion battery and they work best between 20 and 80%. I top my battery up every 5 to 7 days. But this will depend on if my battery is low and I need to use it for a long run.
I think my garmin 5x lasts about 10 days between 100% and less than 10% with 3 to 4 runs of about an hour within that timeframe.

Yes, the sme experience. Normally it takes about 10% a day. I also noticed quite high consumption on 4.10 until I synchronized watch with PC, there came some updates and since then the consumption was like 10 to 15% a day with some bike and walk activities every day

Was the battery consumption the same before the updates or did the battery consumption get worse after each update

After update of apps (automatic when you run Garmin express) it got better. It can be, that some of apps did not work properly on new firmware and author fixed it, I got the fix after I connected to PC.

Actually, why F5X batterry life is worse than F5? Is this real? or does it just assume, you are using maps so garmin gives lower value?
