Sporatic sleep tracking?

So I just got a Fenix 5s sapphire and I've been pretty happy with it so far. However I'm confused on sleep tracking. I've worn the watch every night since I got it and so far in 6 nights I've only gotten sleep data for 2 nights. The other nights don't show any kind of data. I'm not sure where to begin troubleshooting.

I've had my F5 for a week now and I've got the same problem as the OP. My sleep hours show as 8 and the time is the default times I set for the do not disturb time. No actual stats are shown for the time period.

However, if I go and edit the sleep start/end time then all the stats will appear.

Interesting. How do you edit the start/end time of a sleep cycle? I'm still finding my way around the watch/app. I can see if it does the same for me.

Tap on the sleep time counter in the My Day section of Connect. Then tap the Edit option in the top RH corner of the screen. Now select the Bed Time or Wake Time for the options to edit them.

It's something I have to do every day. I've never had accurate sleep and wake times on any of the 3 Garmin devices I've used.

Hmm, Yea unfortunately I tried that for a night I was wearing the watch (a day after I got good data). and I still get "no data available".

this is a known error. there was a post addressing this issue, but i can?t find it any more. if it is only a problem of the search function of this forum or the post was deleted on purpose; i dont?t know. garmin support promised to fix it with the next software release, but there have been multiple firmware und garmin connect updates since. most likely it is a problem on the garmin side (database) not a watch problem. i read the the graphs a calculated by garmin and shown in garmin connect. the sleep times are recorded correct most of the time, but somehow you must edit it in the app or through the web application to trigger the calculation.
