did anyone else suffer this in the last 24hrs? I was trying to. Syncs yesterday and got a "out Servers are unavailable" on the Garmin App. Today still some synching issues but at least it is synching sometimes...but on checking my training status I get "No Status"...which can only be utter rubbish. Frustrating since I am training to push it in to productive. Any feedback if this is a bug others are experiencing would be appreciated. Thanks
Based on my experience (I am also in No Status mode), you have to Run (Trail won't work) with heart rate monitor or bike with Power metre to get a status. I lost my status simply because in the last 2 weeks I am doing only Trail Runs...
does that include treadmill runs? It did seem to be tracking those before...
The manual states that "The device needs one or two weeks of training history, including activities with VO2 max. results from running or cycling, to determine your training status." VO2 max is only obtained from cycling with a power meter or road running (not trail running) outside with GPS. I believe you lose your training status if the time since your last exercise that includes VO2 max is too long.
Treadmill runs will contribute to your training load (provided the run includes HR) but will not allow you to update your VO2 max.
Thank you for this thread. I just experienced the same thing ("Maintaining" to "No Status). I mostly run trails and don't have a Power Meter on my bike. What a bummer. I guess a solve for me would be to make sure I switched to Run mode on my trail runs at least once a week.
While that would provide a VO2max, it would be an incorrect number. Therefore the training status would also be incorrect. Garmin doesn't calculate VO2max from trail runs for this reason (they don't do it just to annoy you).
