Set a Course in Connect. How do I access on 5X

Now that I have set a course on Connect and sent to device. How do I access to monitor during activity? I am new and have a lot of questions.

To start a course I do the following;
1. press the activity button
2. select my activity
3. hold the up/menu button
4. press the down button to select navigation
5. select courses from the navigation list
6. select the course I want to run/hike/bike

Thanks. I just received the 5x and am working my way through. I'll have a lot more questions.
