Fenix 5x sync problem

Hi,
I have the sync problem, after sync 5min it comes that device must be synced user settings. Tried to sync by wifi, garmin express, garmin connect android, all green sync are ok and not showing any needs to sync, but after 5min it comes everywhere again. Tryed to reinstal garmin connect and express - does not helped. Any things?

  • Haven't ever been able to sync my 5X via the cable and now cannot sync via the app either....
    I am so frustrated that I actually just want to throw the watch away as Garmin support either doesn't get back to you or they simply cannot fix software issues which is further affecting a very expensive device that doesn't even take accurate heart rate on the wrist ... it is a HRM after all!!!!
  • This issue has been there since launch, and never, ever addressed.

    It will also override any device settings you set on your watch, every time you sync it. Alarms (!!!), do not disturb, sleep time, etc. Enjoy what it means to be a Garmin customer =)
  • I have the same. All my Data will overwritten with a sync. I have FW 5.83
  • Almost 1 or even 2 months I have the same problem, receiving message from Garmin Express about error with synch. Even stopped to do it through GE. Do it through synch on watch
  • I have an error syncing device-settings and sports to the watch. It happend after updating an App, removing it and reinstalling again with the android connect app. Anyone an idea?

  • I am having the same issue too reference sync with Mac Garmin Connect and Express.

    I also had significant issues re-atempting to pair my F5X with iPhone this all started after install FW5.83 and BETA GE on iPhone.

    After reinstall FW5.40 and finally able to pair the issue is still the same see pics.

    On the Garmin website of GC cannot remove the F5X get a 'we are sorry, we are unable to communicate with the server' there is no issue with the servers when you look!

    At the moment I can only use the F5X via the iPhone. Cannot add, or remove the F5X.

    I have to say, as a very very long user of Garmin products I am now beyond disappointed. For such an expensive item this is getting very long in the tooth.

    If anyone has any clues or ideas I'm keen to hear.

  • I have also been having the same issue for 4 days now. Activities get synced (using Garmin Express on PC or Iphone) but "device settings" are not. In fact, when I tried to access "device setting" online (the link looks like https://connect.garmin.com/modern/device/xxxxxxxxxx ), I get the following error message:
    Sorry, we're having trouble with this page.


    "Training Status" is not being updated either.

    While trying to find a fix, I unpaired the 5X from my phone. I paired it back with the phone (bluetooth connection is working) but I can't pair it back with Garmin Connect.

    I ended calling Garmin Support who told me they are aware of the problem and that I will get a email when it is fixed. When? They don't know. This is upsetting since I am in the final stages of my autumn Marathon Training.

    Edit: Not sure if related, but the problem started after my Fenix 5X completely crashed during a long run.
  • I am not sure my problem is the same or not, any help will be appreciated.

    I tried setting the alarms via GC on my iPhone and I got an error. 1st time it ever happened to me. Other than this all was syncing.
    I unpaired my watch from the iPhone and forgot device from the BT menu. Then I re-paired with GC, the 5X paired to the iPhone on BT using GC but it is giving me an error on the final stage of the pairing. The 5X is paired via BT and getting notifications etc... but not paired with GC and doesn't sync.

    I didn't reset to factory settings as i don't want to loose all my settings and I didn't delete GC and reinstall as I don't want to start configuring GC all over again (are all settings deleted when deleting GC?)

    Any ideas if there is something I can do?

    In my case, it started a few days before I updated to the last version of Garmin Connect.

  • Exactly the same thing for me right now. Sarted with problems during sync and after I un-paired the Fenix it was not possible to pair it again. Using another account on GC worked actually (Fenix paired without problems) so that is the work-aroung I go with now. At least possible to analyze the activities after on PC.
