Hi fellows, It seems that my watch is a sleepy one ! It never goes to awake mode, I saw this because many watchfaces offer working seconds hand in awake mode. Worked fine with my fenix 3 but never saw my fenix 5 awake...
There was a version of the FW where the gesture for dropping out of low power mode wasn't working correctly, and the work-around was to also set the backlight to turn on based on a gesture. Another option is to use a watchface that shows seconds all the time. There are a number that do that in the app store. (many of mine for example! :) ) NoFrills and Actiface but have a update to do this that were just uploaded this week.
I am using 4.10 firmware. the workaround was not working until I woke up next day and in the morning I saw second hand of watchface which is enable only in awake mode. weird thing is that I have to enable automatic light on gesture to enter in awake mode but while in this mode I have no light....
To be honest, I'd just install the 5.09 beta and not worry about it. You may want to check the 5.09 thread just to make sure there's nothing that would break for you first,
