VO2Max and Wattbike

Is it possible to get a VO2Max reading on indoor bike? Using a Wattbike and have connected to the power, cadence and speed sensors. Using a TRi - HRM belt. Have so far done 3 30min sessions. All data recorded but no VO2Max calculated. Is this right?

TIA

  • VO2 Max has worked OK for me in the past on Wattbikes at the gym (power and HR chest strap must be connected to the F5), but only for predominantly steady state activities. If you do interval sprints or regularly change the resistance through the activity, then VO2 Max is much less likely to be calculated. Another thing to check is that you are definitely using the native Bike Indoor app and not another app copied and/or renamed. Also worth making sure your max and min HR values are populated in the User Profile settings on the F5.
  • Thanks Crispin. Went to gym last night and indoor cycling profile had disappeared. Had to system reset when I got home - activity has reappeared so will try again tonight.
