Had initial cable to computer connectivity issues with my Fenix 5x and contacted Garmin support. Without getting back to me on the issue, a new charging cable was shipped, was surprised Garmin didn't give feedback. Within a few days, while I was sleeping the watch discharged from 95% to 5% and the charging connectors corroded. When I woke up and removed the watch, there was a burn on my wrist where the pins were touching my skin. Has anyone else experienced charging pin corrosion? ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1237015.jpg
Sorry to hear about your connection issue with the fenix 5x. With your burn on your wrist could you please reach out to Garmin's Support Teams, so we can research this further.
Hi bherald02, how was your case resolved? I'm experiencing something similar regarding corrosion (fortunately my wrist wasn't burnt yet). Photo attached, it looks like it is only one contact (2nd from the top) that causes corrosion. I had mine cleaned with a brush and a soap so it doesn't look bad at this point, but after heavy exercise involving fair amount of sweat or open water swim in the ocean it looks exactly like your watch on the photo.
I got my unit replaced with a new one (different serial) I got multiple issues: _cable connection issue (I luckily have 4 cables at home so I was able to cross diagnose the issue) _wifi issue
No burns on my skin cause, but that's eventually only because I use a silicon cover to protect the plug (0.10$ from China)
