HR from belt doesn't display in running fields?

Hi Garmin friends,

I'm using my Fenix 5 now with a HRM Tri belt and I did activate the belt in Menu-Settings-Sensors. It connected properly to the Fenix.
However, I believe that when using a standard "running" activity or using a data field from IQ connect, I believe it is displaying the wrist HR and not the external one...is this possible?
The setting of my wrist HR is properly set to "auto".

Is there something particular I need to do to display the HRM-Tri heart rate as default during my activities vs the wrist one?

It is possible, but the wrist HR should disconnect when the external HR is connected - assuming that the F5 works like the 935. With the 935 I get a message telling me when the external heart rate is connected. When I look underneath the watch the lights are off. Might be the same with the F5

Thanks, unfortunately I don't get a message that it the external HR belt is connected and the optical HR watch lights underneath continue to blink...
again, the HR wrist is set to "auto" in the settings and the external HR belt is indeed connected.
Anyone else is having this issue?

From the run activity go into Settings, then Sensors and see if the HRM shows as connected.

thanks! how do I go into the settings of the run activity? is it the same as for the general settings? openbox9

Yes. Same way - long press the Up button, while in the run activity.
