Lactate Threshlod problems

Hi,
I know there are a lot of topis about LT, but I still have problems to have get my LT data. I am training (bike/swim/run) a lot and have quite low average HR.
I have my Fenix 5 for almost 3 months, run dozens of times with HRM-Tri. No LT data found automatically. Last few weeks I tried guided test (after warm up I run for each time faster with higher HR) > every time no LT found... I even lower maxHR, still nothing. StressTest ok. Watch and HRM-Tri updated.

My last attepmts:

Do you have any idea what is going on? What am I doing wrong?
Thank you all in advance for any help.
  • I have the same issue with HRM TRI,I send my watch to garmin , because this is annoying, but I know this is global issue, because people complain also 935. I belive this is issue regarding software, because in April, MAy was works correctly from June with soft 4:10 no more LT after few competition
  • Lporebski, on these run you posted, what was your max HR set to? On the guided test did you hit and maintain the pace/ hear rate prescribed for all the segments?

I used to to think this didn't work as I never got a LT from the watch. Then I did the guided test and I got one, so I know it works. However you need to follow the test and also be fresh enough to hit the required paces and heart rate

  • My max HR is now set to 184 for few weeks (highest since 6 months), before it was set to 195 (I set it many years ago ang forgot about it).
For the last test I even set it for 180. On guided test I follow instructions correctly, HR almost all the time in green zone and nothing... :(

I don't know if I am doing something wrong or there is something wrong with my watch/hrm tri...
  • I have only had one LT result in a couple months. OK, most of my running is trail running - I realise that doesn't calculate LT.
But today I ran 5k continuous around a flat running track, wearing an HRM-Run chest strap, with at least 2/3 of the time above my previous LT of 160bpm, 53% in zone 4 and 25% in zone 5, got a VO2Max result and aerobic TE of 3.6 - but still no LT.
    Any ideas why?
  • If you want an LT value, then do a guided LT test. That's how it's supposed to work. The watch CAN give you an LT from a normal run, but only when it gets the data it needs. If your aerobic TE was 3.6, then you weren't running anywhere close to hard enough. LT values are not like the watch's VO2max estimates, where it's constantly updating based on all available data. It needs a very strenuous effort.
  • Actually, I don't agree. What it needs is a variety of different paces below and above LT. I suspect your run didn't have enough variance. If you do a guided test then it will get you to run at the required paces.
