Fenix 5X vs Galaxy S8

I have had the Fenix 5X for awhile now.

At first, I had a hard time staying connected to Bluetooth.

I still have that problem, but my watch randomly buzzes Livetrack Ended and I see the phone say "reconnected".

I am currently RIGHT next to the phone with the watch.

I have tried deleting and readding...
Turning off Livetrack Autostart...

About the only thing that works is turning off the phone's Bluetooth.

Anything else to try?
  • I have the same issue with motorola x play ,I send my watch to garmin , because this is annoying

I have a Galaxy S8+ and have zero issues with connection or notifications once I updated the Fenix to 4.10. The 4.16 beta has been solid as well.

  • If turning off and on the Bluetooth on your phone fixes the issue then maybe the issue is with the phone?

I had the same issue with a Fitbit and turning off and on the Bluetooth fixed it and with the Fenix it is the same so I suspect it is the phone. It works for a while and then it stops working, I dont realise it for hours.

one other thing i forgot to mention. After the firmware update on the Fenix I also rebooted the phone. I probably could have switched off bluetooth to get the same result, but the watch wouldn't connect to the phone properly. One reboot of the phone and all was solved.

  • Have you been tried pairing via native blutetooth on your phone? These instructions greatly improved bluetooth pairing via my Galaxy S7:

  • I also have big problems with blutooth with my S8+ and fenix 5. Never had that issues with my S7Edge. My fenix 5 icon dissapeared in garmin connect 2 times this week, and i had to setup the watch again...annoying as..............fix this Garmin!
