Training Calendar not sending to F5x

Hello,

I have planned workouts in the calendar on garmin connect, and I am not able to send to my watch (Fenix 5X). Has anyone have the same issue?

I use the "send workouts to device" button, then a pop-up tells me that x numbers of workout will be send to my watch, I select my watch and I have an error message (attached) and loading spinning forever. I cannot escape, I have to reload the page.

I tried the watch plugged to the computer with garmin express, not plugged, without luck so far.

I can use the iphone app to send specific workout (one by one, I don't know if there is a way to sync all the calendar from the iphone), but I loose the calendar feature as the workout is just registered in my workouts.

Any ideas?

Thanks ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1228935.jpg

I had that only once where I was sending more than 200 planned workouts to the watch. Reducing to 199 helped.
But 5 is a bit strange...

What happens when you try removing the last 4 and send the 1st to the watch only. Then create #2 and re-send...

So I ended up removing all planned workouts, and adding again 1 at a time. It works until I get to 5, then I get the same message and I have to remove everything again. I guess I'll plan at the beggining of my week and stick to 4 workouts sent at a time.

And the calendar is not showing anything on the watch face. I only get the plan workout proposition when I lauch an activity on the right day.
  • Perhaps you have special characters at the workout name, like %

Indeed I have special characters in the name of the workout. I'll try to see what happens if I remove them.

    Thanks

Do you have more than 200 workouts? Because after an hour on the phone with support I discovered that there is now a hard limit of 200 workouts, regardless of device acapacity.

I've used the "Send to Device" feature from the calendar for YEARS to download training plans. I've always included warm up/stretching and cooldown as separate "other" workouts, not because I wanted them on my watch but because I also sync it to my calendar. My suggestion is this:

Either Put it back to the way it used to be, where it downloaded as many as it could and ignored anything further in the future (which is FINE -- I'm happy to download new workouts every month or so).

OR add an option to only download Running workouts -- this would keep the number down significantly while still allowing me to schedule those other parts of my training in the calendar.

I am so mad about this; I've been a loyal customer for years and breaking a feature like this REALLY SUCKS.
  • I had recently the same issue on my 225 forerunner. I wanted to add workouts I've been using for years to build a new workout calendar.
I got the error message while sending my calendar to my watch.

Following Gregouille93 advice, I deleted all special characters from my workout titles (like ', +, % ...) and it worked :D.
I must be a regression from one of the last software update from Garmin since I used those workout transfer in may or June.
  • Wow - thank you so much about the hint with the special characters. I just cannot believe this. I always had heart rate percentages in my workouts title. It used to work fine. This BUG cost me some hours! I use a Forerunner 735. After removing special characters everything worked. Thanks a lot!

Same problem with my Fenix 3HR, and same solution. I deleted "%" and it works now
