I set my daily steps goal to 7,500 in the Garmin Connect app on my iPhone. I have since synced, restarted, and more but my watch still shows my auto-calculated goal only. It used to work showing 7,500 lately this hasn't been the case.

Anyone have any suggestions?

My 5x did the exact same thing for the first two days I owned it, then it mysteriously started working fine. Just make sure your step goal is set to custom (7500) in every location (garmin connect online, connect mobile, etc - since apparently it's impossible to get any of them to work nicely with each other, IE alarms) and give it a few days if you just got the watch. If you've had the watch for a while and it just started doing this then that's a real head scratcher.
  • I reported this when the 5X first came out...try this, in GCM select the more button bottom right > garmin devices > Fenix5X > user settings > daily steps > toggle auto goal on and let the watch sync then toggle the auto goal off and put your manual value back in save and let the watch sync again the value on the watch should be correct now.

Ok finally got it to work. I had to go to Garmin Connect via the web and mess with it there. Previously though, I was able to make these changes just in the Garmin Connect iOS app. Seems like a bug given how inconsistent this is.
