Fenix 5 courses cannot import

Hi - hope someone can help - I can import some courses to my Fenix 5 in GPX format by connecting to my Mac, then copying across to the New Files directory, but some of them don't then show up in courses when I disconnect and check. Any ideas? I only have 10 routes on there and plenty of free memory space. Routes are downloaded from Strava, some downloaded that way work, others don't.

Any help greatly appreciated.

On other Garmin devices (Oregon 700, GPSMAP 64s), I'd normally copy the GPX file to the \Garmin\GPX directory and it'd show up. I read last night that the GPX should go in the NewFiles directory, like you've found. Since I was already messing around in BaseCamp, I imported it there, and with the fenix 5X plugged in, I right clicked on the course > Send to > fenix.

Shows up perfectly when viewing Courses.
