While I agree with FitBit being more accurate on stairs, their watches are very poorly made.
They are not "waterproof" and not even "splash proof". I wore one in high humidity, and the
face fogged up and the watch was useless. Even a slight rain will have the same result.
Well I don't know what to report really, having climbed the stairs 4 times with the altimeter showing on the watch the elevation didn't change from the bottom to the top at all on any of the stair climbs
Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
This is the problem. Without a change in elevation no floor will be counted... mmmm
Just another question: do you make any workout outdoor with gps?
Even if elevation doesn't change, is it the number correct?
I've measured the height of my floor climb/stairs and it's 2.7m from hall floor to the bedroom floor. So I guess technically it falls short of Garmins requirement, however it doesn't explain why some days the watch is more accurate than others at counting floors climbed and as others are not reporting the same issue I'm convinced that the unit is faulty.
I wouldn't disagree on that, but my point is the technology works well on a lesser value watch, for the price of my Fenix 5 sapphire I expect it and everything else to work and it doesn't.
Absolutely agree, the floor counting on the 5 series is pathetic, some days it works okay and other days not at all
My thoughts and experiences entirely, yesterday it counted 80% of the floors climbed, so far today it has counted 0/3. I simply don't understand the inconsistencies, surely it should either work...............or not.
