OSM Map for Norway

I am travelling from USA to Norway in a month. I have plans to bike Rallarvegen and hike Trolltunga. I would like to have a route to follow for each of those. I was able to make courses using RouteCourse App but the watch said I didn't have routable maps so it failed.

I am a novice when it comes to using OSM type maps. Can anyone help direct me to a good "how to" with using non-Garmin maps or have recommendations of where to find a cycle-routable and hike-routable map for Norway?

hi,

i use the maps from freizeitkarte-osm.de frequently. They are good in quality, pre-compiled and ready to use after download - and yes: they have routing capabilities

A lot more simple than you think. I'm a newbie too and had lots of questions before my trip to Thailand. Downloaded from site below. Got a map with great detail, able to use "near me" function to search for shopping, attractions etc. Took me on my runs until I got to know the place.

Simply go to http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl

Request the map of country or area you're travelling to (I chose Generic Routable)

If the map is readily available it will give you a download link. It will take a day or two to download as you'll go into a queue.

Drop the download file into the Garmin folder on your watch and you're good to go.

Choose topo summer, install it on the PC and transfer it via Basecamp.

I would strongly advise having a paper map as well.

Alternatively, just dump the downloaded .img-file directly to the Garmin folder on your watch. No need for Basecamp.

Both frikart.no and garmin.openstreetmap.nl work well in Norway (they are from the same source so....)

openstreetmap.nl worked very well! I saved the img file and dropped into the garmin folder and now my route appears to load.
