Temp solution for MYWatch WF?

The MyWatch face is my favorite, but as has been noted by many others, it crashes periodically and must be uninstalled then reinstalled to get it working again until the next crash. The developer has not issued any updates recently and may have moved on, however I've been doing some experimenting. I am most definitely not a developer, but I noticed that if I install the WF and DO NOT use the GPS method to get the sun data working, but rather leave it uncalibrated, the watch face crashes much less frequently. I've had multiple days with out crash as long as I don't display the sun data.
I'm not sure what's behind this, but it makes this WF a bit more usable and may help other developers continue trying to resolve the crash issue with their watch faces.

This is actually my favorite face as well. I've contacted the developer a couple of times lately and gotten no reply. I'm really hoping he/she hasn't abandoned it.

Let's hope it is developed further. It's so close!
I'd be interested in knowing if the method I described helps for you as well. Thanks for responding!

    +1...

Thanks for responding! Would you be willing to beta test the settings I describe and report? I'm not a developer, but this testing might help one with this issue.

hi, same here: using MyWatch w/o sunrise/sunset data is way more stable (cannot remember a crash) but once i start GPS and the WF has the data, its very likely on the same day but for sure the day after that the WF is crashing.
developer was very active when i reported the last bugs (wrong translation) but hasn't answered in the last week regarding this issue and one more thing.
WF is showing different min/max HR values for the last 4 hrs compared to the Garmin Widget ....shouldnt it be the same source? or why is it different?

    hope this helps.

Yes thank you! This is confirmation that it isn't just my watch responding to those parameters and that WF. Not sure about the HR calibration as I mainly monitor barometer for climbing and hiking. I'm not as concerned with WF showing constant HR value. Although I have found that this version will only display graph when milibars are selected for pressure. I would like the next option to work, inches of mercury. I too have communicated (and donated) to this developer. I believe his HQ is France where I recall understanding that folks take a whole month off for vacation, so he may simply be taking a break. He's put in many hours on this and his other projects so deserves it. Hopefully we will see more development soon. In the meantime these experiments may help lead to something for not only him but others as well. Thanks again!
  • This is my favorite watchface since day one with my F5x.
Liquid Crystal Clock 2 from the same developer was my favorite watchface for my F3.
It's unfortunate that my watch watchface is not fully operational at this time for F5x.
Up to V1.3 it was working flawlessly. But since V1.4 crashes. Whatever chance he did trying to make it better, made it worse.
I have also made some troubleshooting and found out that if you get a GPS fix in order to have daylight data, then crashes.
The only way to have it working is not to have daylight data.
It has to do with the way that F5x handles the GPS coordinates in relation with how the watchface saves them.
I have emailed the developer with my findings, but I haven't got any response from him.
It is appropriate to demand from any developer to fix anything because he is not get paid from his work in the first place.
If he has the time and the energy maybe he will try to fix it.
I am sure that he is a member of this forum and he probably read this thread.
What I am asking is to revert back to previous version v1.3 which was working flawlessly.

Interesting that you find version 1.3 more stable. I find the most recent release to be the most stable.
    My wish list for MyWatch development;
1- Display sun data without the crash issue
2- Pressure graph functioning in inches of mercury
    3- Always-On seconds display.

    Thank you!

I ran it for a while without updating GPS for sunrise/sunset and it seemed ok. Once I updated GPS, the second i received a notification the watch face crashed.
  • Beta 4.12 fw seems to fixed this problem.
So it looks like the problem was from Garmin side.
