On the F3HR the HR was taken periodically throughout the day.
With the 5X the HR is taken constantly (I think every second but close enough). The new sensor is more efficient than the one in the F3HR.
My battery life seems about the same (Had the F3HR since the first week it was available and ditto with the F5X).
