GPS Incredibly innacurate since 4.10 update.

Done two runs with the new software and seems to be making KM way too short.
Did a run I have used for 10km which my vivoactive repeatedly measured as 10K and it was measured as 13K+.
Using Ultratrac as GPS mode as I thought that would be most accurate.

Thanks for that. Switched to GPS + Glonass today and run was far more accurate. Still think it is a pretty abysmal error for ultratrac. Greater than 30% error is pretty awful.

That's a bad one.. hope it improves for you. The latest firmware is causing more problems than solutions for me

I have some pretty bad results myself, quite a lot worse than my ambit 3r that was cheap in comparison. Seems to be from hardware, as I looked at comparisons and up mojo was lost between 910xt and 920xt.
But hey we have step counting! :)

But I set GPS to 1s to make sure... (although default smart looks almost same). Ultra is for ultra running when you run like a day and otherwise battery would die.

I did swim an extra lap on the 4.10 swim, but the distnace should be approx. 2300m - not 2800m and has me swimming throught he hotel lobby....I only wish I could swim that fast :-)

Very similar to the overstatment of distance I found with the Ultratrac runs. Have done 2 runs since glonass and GPS and they seem far more accurate fortunately. Ultratrac was making me run 20 years younger in terms of speed.

to measure the accuracy of GPS during the open water swim is not very good, because the GPS signals are not received when you have your watch under the water level. It would be better if you compare it while running or cycling or anything on the ground :)

I'm aware of that - but both swims are on the same loop on the same lake with the same swimmer - I would expect them to look similar. In fact all my previous swims in this lake with my Fenix 5x look fine (as per firmware 3.30, and all of my swims with my Fenix 3). Yesterday was the first open water swim I've done with the new firmware, and the distance is about 500m out and has me swimming over land. Not one of my previous swims on this lake has shown that.
