How to chose bluetooth instead of ANT+ when pairing external sensor?

Does anybody know how we can choose which of either bluetooth or ANT+ we would like to pair external sensors with?
I dont get a choice to choose during normal pairing.
  • When you search for a sensor which is capable of ANT+ and Bluetooth you should see both options during pairing. At least that's how I managed to pair my Stages power meter via Bluetooth. Make sure the sensor has no other Bluetooth connection established while you try pairing. A Bluetooth sensor can only have one device paired at the same time.
  • If the device is dual band, both should show up in the options. Take the Wahoo Tickr X: when I first connected it to my watch the BT sig AND ANT + sig popped up. If you are confused about which is which, the BT signature looks like a MAC address (I think it's just that device's BT address) While the ANT + one is usually only a few numbers. I kinda wish they would just catch the dev name of the device right away (HEY!! THIS IS A POLAR H7!!), but it doesn't
  • If you go into Settings -> Sensors & Accessories on the watch you should see your dual Ant+/BT device listed twice.
E.g. my TICKR Run shows up as
HR - TICKR RUN 0997 (Bluetooth)
HR - Wahoo Ant+ (I renamed this, I don't recall what it was originally called but it was a stupid name)

If you only ever want to connect via BT then you just need to go into the Ant+ pairing and change the Status to Off. And obviously the other way round if you only ever want to connect via Ant+

You could just remove the one you don't want to use, but I'm pretty sure with Ant+ at least it may automatically detect it and re-pair, or at least ask you to re-pair, which will get annoying.
  • I have a TICKR Run too and have just started using a F5. Is there any particular reason to prefer ANT+ to Bluetooth?

So my watch wont give me the chance to choose Bluetooth when I am pairing. It will only show the ANT+ pairing. Funny enough, it shows a glimpse of "show bluetooth sensors" but it disappears so quickly it is impossible to press the button. Had to film it to capture it.

I had exactly the same behavior with an older beta version. For me it was solved using a newer beta firmware.

I am using 3.30 firmware. Guess I have to wait for new update?

Same issue. Might load on the latest beta to see if that helps.
