Sleep Tracking Issue

I wear the watch 24/7 (except for the occasional recharge.) Anyway, the first 2-3 days it logged my time to garmin Connect, then one other time I was able to get sleep to sync over, but now I don't get anything. No sleep data is making it to the app. All my other vitals and activities are going over, just not sleep.

I've been wearing it for about 3 weeks now. Any suggestions how to get the sleep data over? I've tried bluetooth, wifi, and direct connect. Nothing of sleep is coming over. I set my sleep time for 10:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. EST.

Thanks.
  • Does your step data sync, is there a "timeline" with step data in it on Connect (not the mobile app, but online in Connect)?

If there are steps but no sleep, check your profile if normal sleep/wake up times are correctly entered and have not been reset somehow, if regional settings (time zone) are correct, and that the device is set as your preferred activity tracker.

If there are no steps in Connect, the "monitor" files may not have synced correctly. This is extremely rare though. You can try the following: make a backup of the \Garmin\Monitor via USB, and then carefully check \Garmin\Monitor on the device for files with a date/time in the future (the dates/times of the files are UTC) and remove them from the device. (The file names are a kind of timestamp themselves; 76400000.FIT is 7 (2017) 6 (june) 4 (the day), after 9 counting continues with the letters of the alphabet, so A can be the month October or the 10th of the month). Edit: if syncing works, you should see only 1 or 2 files there, one will probably be named MONITOR.FIT

Unfortunately there is no easy way to 'rescue' the steps from an incorrectly written monitor file, consider them lost. But keep the backup just in case some day it will be possible to upload them after all.

I updated in the edit the sleep and yes, it sets my sleep time to that range, but NONE of the data is pulled over from the watch for Deep sleep, movement, etc... Just a straight set of hours for what I entered manually.

I will look for the file. Yes, it is pulling ALL activity data over, steps, calories, intensity, stairs, etc... Just not Sleep. I did the other post and put in through the edit the sleep hours and it recorded those hours but not the sleep activity. IN the app, it just continues to say "Sync to see your latest stats." for sleep. I also have it set to wifi for my home to do continues updates.

    Missing Sleep Data

Hmmm, now I see 1 more day, June 5th added to my sleep data "online" at connect.garmin.com, but not on my mobile device. So I am getting WAY inconsistent sleep log data. I've checked the file and I see a total of 3 files. 766a2815.fit, 766a2900.fit and monitor.fit.
