Is there any way of setting a straight line navigation to a saved location or if you are doing a hike and want to do a straight line return

Ok with all your help I am starting to get there.
Can you clarify for me that to use direct routing for a saved location you have to go into map then move the curser over your saved location and then go to pick hike for instance that you have set to direct routing.
And there is no way of setting up saved location so you can go into it and choose to use different routing from there ?
