Heart rate sensor keeps turning off

Why does the optical h/r sensor in my F5 turn off?
If I enable it on the watch, it seems to turn off after a short while. The only thing I can think is that Garmin connect on my iPhone 7 synchs with the watch and because h/r is not turned on on the iPhone, it pushes that to the watch and turns it off.
I thought synch was meant to go both ways, where the most recent change on either the watch or gc was replicated in the other?
Anyone else have this?
Thanks.

There is an issue that many of the settings (not just HR) on the watch get overridden by settings on Garmin Connect. GC website (synced through Express and the cable) has highest priority, then the phone, and finally the watch. Ensure all are set the same way, then sync.

Does anyone experience this after updating to 5.10??
  • Can't say I've seen this problem myself. If it keeps happening to you though, try turning the watch off then on and if that doesn't help then you could email the details of the bug to "][email protected] . The key is to detail the steps to replicate the bug you are seeing. They won't necessarily email you back, as they generally only get back if they need more info from you, but it is the quickest route to raise a genuine bug to the software development folks at Garmin.
