  • I also calibrate my elevation manually multiple times during the day

have a go at it... no harm done

Yep I also calibrate my elevation numerous times per day but the floor counting seems to have a mind of its own, yesterday it counted 8 out of 11 floors climbed, today it counted 0 from 7, unbelievable for a £500 plus watch.
  • the F5 changed how I take the stairs :o

nowadays I take the first seven steps one by one and the rest by two's

this seems to work for me at home and at the office
mind you I did not test it for multiple floors in one go

If you want even more accuracy, wear hat. Preferably an aluminum one.
  • A feature or a bug?

Just flashed my fenix 5 sapph. to 4.02 to fix pulsating screen issue, but noticed another thing.
On analogue faces the seconds hand disappears when the watch is left idle on a desk.
Is it a energy saving feature (face doesn't get refreshed every second) or is it a bug?
The hand reappears the moment the watch is lifted. Wondering if anyone noticed this before reporting this?
  • Which Whatchface do you use? I use a stock one and it does not disappear. But as far as I know, the IQ Whatcfaces do this to save the power.

Hi, I used the first default face, the one with two semi circular data fields. It's pretty odd but I cannot reproduce this glitch now. Will keep on testing.

I had noticed this disappearing second hand after some earlier updates, but as with you it then stopped behaving like that. I know custom watch faces were prevented from 1 Hz updates earlier - I suspect there is some lingering code somewhere in the base.
  • Isnt 4 unlucky number in China?

Better bump firmware from 3 to 5.

If the payment has been made it does not matter anymore :)

Yep once the monies in the account Garmin don't give a hoot.
  • Beta Update?

Its been a while since we've had a Beta update: 02/06/17

Does the silence mean that we can expect a significant update which will cure all of our issues or have the Garmin Geeks simply run out of ideas?
