Why is it that sometimes when I am going somewhere using Google maps navigation on my iPhone I get Turn by Turn instruction on my Fenix 5 as well. Other times I don't get any notification on the watch at all.

Google Maps pops up turn notifications on your phone if you're using it to navigate but the app is in the background. I would guess those notifications get pushed to your watch just like any other notification?

I called Garmin about this and they said it will work some of the times but not all, because it is not supported. They said that if it works , that's great, but it will not work all the times.
He advised me to send this to Garmin support ideas so that they can possibly make it part of the notification push to the Fenix in the future, so I did.
Well, I figured out how this works..
When Navigating with Google maps, Waze or Apple maps, if the app is open , You will not get notifications Turn by Turn sent to the watch.
If the Navigation apps are running in the background, you will get Notification Turn by Turn on the watch.
Something that Garmin could not figure out ??
This is nice if you don't want to keep looking at your phone, especially if using Navigation while on a bike so that the phone can stay in your pocket.
